Another distribution deal in the asset finance space, and this one is worth watching for anyone buying a ute, a fit-out, or a piece of plant.
Australian Broker reported that Aussie has partnered with fintech brokerage LoanOptions.ai, giving its more than 1,350 brokers a referral pathway to a panel of more than 90 lenders for non-mortgage lending. The offering is now live nationwide, sitting alongside Aussie's existing Platform Finance and Aussie Auto (powered by Pepper) options.
What's actually being sold
The pitch is a digital application: upload a licence, provide a payslip or business details, link a bank account, and the platform pre-fills up to 80 per cent of the form. A specialist then runs it to settlement. The companies cite CFBA data that 70% of home buyers purchase an asset within nine months, which is the real logic here, capturing the car, equipment, or renovation finance that follows a property purchase.
What it changes for borrowers
For a business owner, more panels generally means more places your file can land, not necessarily a better rate on any given day. A 90-lender panel is a matching tool, not a discount. The quality of the outcome still turns on your numbers, asset type, deposit, trading history, and how the deal is structured.
Worth noting: this is a referral arrangement built to keep mortgage brokers in the conversation after settlement. That's a commercial reason to broaden the panel, and a fair one. It doesn't tell you whether a broker who arranges asset finance daily will read your equipment deal differently than one referring it out.
The promised five-minute application and ISO 27001 certification are process claims, not credit outcomes. Speed of application is not speed of approval, and pre-fill is not pre-approval. If you're pricing plant or vehicle finance, the panel width is a starting point, the terms are still worked out one deal at a time.
